Spencer Riley is collaborating with a laboratory supplies distributor, and we are currently seeking an Outside Sales Manager to join their growing team. The position will be focused on hunting for new business, managing accounts, creating and maintaining relationships with customers and managing the sales process from start to finish. Ideal candidates can be based throughout the United States, managing the territory they are currently based in.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Selling lab supplies and chemicals to government labs, hospitals, pharma and industrial.
  • Managing and growing a portfolio of existing and new customers to take advantage of business opportunities and mitigate competition
  • Maintaining regular contact with existing customers and representing the company at multifunctional meetings, both UK and overseas
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities to expand the market potential and applications for specialist products
  • Establishing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, including commercial negotiations
  • Managing month end process
  • Conducting market research to anticipate and identify market requirements and creating strategies in order to take advantage of potential opportunities
  • Liaising with commercial, technical and production functions within the business unit to advice on future market requirements and trends

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, business development or account management in a lab supplies, consumables, and chemicals.
  • Good technical knowledge, gained from experience or education
  • Strong IT skills - particularly Excel and Word for accurate sales administration purposes
  • Results-driven, with a strong 'can do' attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Customer-focused and able to build relationships and trust with customers
