Spencer Riley explores the latest insights into our sector specialism and the impact on markets and resourcing senior-level talent across the globe.

Through speaking daily with clients and candidates across our specialist sectors, it’s fair to say that our consultants have their finger on the pulse when it comes to major industry trends and what is happening in each market from a recruitment perspective.

From Sports Nutrition to Life Sciences, each month we’ll be speaking with them to find out which Top 3 roles are most in demand currently and the reasons why.

This month, our Divisional Manager, Adam Garvey explains which high-priority roles top the list for Sports Nutrition clients across the UK:

  1. National Account Manager – specifically in convenience, grocery, and forecourts, clients are looking to attract candidates with the ability to forge strong client relationships in a dynamic environment. A lot of companies are going into this mass market retail space with the nation’s appetite to purchase ‘grab and go’ protein snacks seeing little sign of diminishing. The competition amongst our clients to find the right talent to meet this demand has never been higher.
  1. New Product Development – innovation and the creation of new products in the fast-paced world of Sports Nutrition has always been a high priority for brands to stay ahead of the curve. Conversely, it is one of the most desirable and rewarding career paths for candidates with the creative flair and ability to spot a strong commercial opportunity or market gap.
  1. Area Sales Manager – we’re experiencing an influx of clients across brands and distribution companies who are looking for candidates with the commercial, sales and technical skills who can grow market share within gyms, independent stores and sports nutrition stores. Intense competition to grow these accounts has meant that identifying the best talent is a key priority for clients.

Adam Garvey is a leading expert in the recruitment of specialists in the Sports and Nutrition industry.

Adam comments:

The sports nutrition industry has been booming for years now and it doesn’t seem like it’s slowing down. Across the globe, there are more people participating in sports and fitness than ever before due mainly to changing eating habits, an increased awareness of approved scientific claims, and the influence of social media to promoting awareness and a larger range of products. For our clients, this provides a greater possibility to reach new audiences and makes this market very attractive in terms of career opportunities.
